I got there at 5:30. They only had 47 phones and I was about number 40.

On the front page, I had a spinning beachball for a few minutes and could not exit. Doing the software update which included Safari and Java seemed to solve this problem, but I'm not sure if that was the cause.

I was experiencing the same message ("None of the items in this playlist can be burned to disc", even while trying to burn a regular audio CD.

The message appeared when I had the playlist selected on the left, then pressed burn.

I tried checking all the check boxes next to the songs in the list. This allowed me burn the disc.

It seems like a bug -- why wouldn't itunes just alert me that "no items were selected to burn"?

I hope the extent of damage is minimal. Just think if a few key satellites are damaged. Some won't have a cell phone for a while. Maybe go without TV. ...The horror.
As far as more serious concerns, I'm sure the military has contingency defenses in case the system comes crashing down. :eek:

after hours of frustration, i finally got it to restore with a custom .ispw. Noe im trying to figure out the tetheredboot part. Firstly, i don't seem to find the files located in the /dfu...at least not the ones i need, i've got 48 instead of 90. When i turn the ipad on i see cydia, but it crashes upon opening, this is a result of still being not tethered, right? Basically what i'm asking i guess is for some help with the last part of this process.

Considering that IE6 is being promoted by Microsoft to die I really wouldn't worry about making it compatible, unless your audience is from South Korea where 24% are still using IE6 :p

When Leopard was released, the minimum requirement was a machine with a 867 MHz G4 or better. The installer blocked it from installing on a machine that was lower. However, with a little bit of work, you could install it (with some caveats, depending on the machine).

So it's entirely possible that someone will release a hack that will allow Lion to run on unsupported machines.

Snow leopard was a universal binary that included Intel 64 bit and Intel 32 bit architectures. No amount of hacking could get it working on a PowerPC Mac. Similarly, Lion only includes system components and applications that are 64 bit, so no amount of hacking will get it working on a 32-bit machine.

It will have been almost 2 years since Snow Leopard was released when Lion is available. However system requirements only will have moved 11 months into the future (the last mac to go 64-bit was the MacBook in November 2006) Lion therefore has more generous legacy support than Snow Leopard did.

Top-line iMac or base-line Mac Pro?

Hey guys, I'm a video editor that works mostly with RED footage in Final Cut Pro and After Effects. I'm also a gamer running Bootcamp and Steam. I'm currently working on a 3 year old Macbook Pro and looking to upgrade by the end of the year. Here are my choices, I'm wondering if a new top of the line iMac will outperform the current base model of the Mac Pros for gaming and video work... or if the Mac Pro is the way to go.

I know I'm bumping a slightly old post, but I'm in the exact same position as you! I really wanted to get Black to for gaming nostalgia, but I read online that they are planning on a 3D pokemon title, and that game won't work on the DSi. So, I think I've decided to just go and get a 3DS--

Nope. There have been no "official" rumours of a 3DS Pokemon game in the style of Black/White (and the other main series games). Of course the next one will be out on the 3DS. But there have been no rumours surfacing yet and it'll be at least 1 year until we see a new game, with the average being 3-4 years for a new title.

Of course there's always a kid on Youtube who says his uncle Jed works for Game Freak and knows all about the next game ;)

Now that I have a great new white iPhone 4, I'm taking a wait and see approach.

It has nothing to do with the color, but rather how great this new model is.

Normally I trust Apple and pre order the moment they release each new iPhone. But after getting burned with Antennagate, I'm not taking the risk.

Another shocker is how many improvements the new white iP4 has. It's far and away the best of all smartphones.

The performance as a phone is wonderful. Loud and clear, it doesn't drop calls. So now that I have a great iPhone there's no reason to get iPhone 5.

I'm going to enjoy this one till iPhone 6.

I'll be heading to the Capitola store after work (5pm-ish). Hope they won't sell out. At least this in-store activation nonsense will stop people from buying to resell on ebay.

Earthlink's my ISP... I can't find anything in the EULA about serving files... but I've had lots of problems with them that they ignore/blame on someone else...
